Debraj Moulick is an academic and a full-time Lecturer of English at K J Somaiya Polytechnic, Mumbai, specializing in literature, communication skills, and speculative fiction. He is currently a Ph.D. research scholar at the University of Mumbai, conducting a comparative study of American and Indian science fiction. His academic background includes a B.A. (Honours) in English from Asutosh College, Kolkata, an M.A. from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, and an M.Phil. from the University of Mumbai centered on postcolonial science fiction. A Maharashtra SET qualifier and former Assistant Professor at the K J Somaiya School of Engineering, he serves as the Joint Secretary of the English Language Teachers' Association of India (ELTAI), Mumbai Chapter. His pedagogical engagement and research span creative writing, British poetry, contemporary drama, modern critical theory, Rabindranath Tagore, and science fiction studies—with a dedicated focus on postcolonial literature, dystopian narratives, and Bengali kalpabigyan. His published work across journals such as The Criterion, Vidyawarta, and The Antonym investigates technological thought experimentation, globalization, and character tropes in the works of Satyajit Ray, Ray Bradbury, and Manjula Padmanabhan. Furthering his contributions to genre literature, he serves as a co-editor for Kalpabiswa, a prominent bilingual science fiction magazine. Alongside his academic research, teaching, and editorial responsibilities, Moulick is an active bilingual poet writing in English and Hindi, with works published across several literary anthologies.
